Stop 105, Fawned Memories by Christine Knapp, Colorado, Bronze
Response to Christine Knapp’s work in this medium has proven so successful that she now devotes all her artistic endeavors exclusively to sculpture. All of her bronzes are created by utilization of the age-old lost wax casting process. In order to better convey the spirit of her subjects, she has traveled to South America, Canada, Europe and Africa to obtain first hand knowledge through personal observation and her own photography. Of special interest to her is the wildlife the Rocky Mountain ecosystems of the United States and Canada. She is also known for her expressive creations of children and canine portraits.
Knapp has also enjoyed the privilege of teaching sculpture to the talented students of the Western Art Academy at Schreiner University (Kerrville, Texas) every summer from 2013 to present. Knapp currently maintains her studio and residence near Lyons, Colorado with her husband & two dogs.
