Stop 113, Spring Study 1 by Ryan & James Pederson, Minnesota, Steel, Copper, and Brass
As a father/son team, this duo’s ability to collaborate strengthens their ideas and production. “It is always very cool to create work that we are both proud of. There is a cohesive ideal, respect and flow to our work that I am honored to share with my father, and I sense he would say the same,” Ryan says.
Their general style is inspired abstract representation of surrounding landscapes. They move from general scenes to details, like with this sculpture, inspired by the long drips of the melting icicles hanging off the eaves. Aside from this specialty, they enjoy the creative challenges of designing custom work for clients. These creations help expand their ideas, understandings, and techniques, which encourages their ongoing pursuit of growing as people and artists.
